I am so proud of this.I had always wondered, what an MF88 would look like in Île-de-France Mobilities (ÎDFM) livery. Today, I made that livery. The RATP Jade Green one was one of the first remixed models I ever did, with detailled bogies/floor boxes. Now, a modernised one exists. The sad thing is that these would have existed in an ideal world.
If anybody here does not know, the MF88s were not actually production trains. They were metro prototypes, culminating from years of successful research on the MF77 BOA prototype train. These were literally just prototypes rushed into production because of a need for more trains. They were designed for an operational speed of 110km/h, and were equipped with hydraulic steering on their single-axle wheels (which also provided a hydraulic tilt mechanism to lean the trains into corners.) Motorisation came from GTO traction, which was the first instance of such a powertrain in a French metro train, and one of the first instances in the world.
In a little twist, two versions are being offered: A dark windowed version, and a gradient windowed version. This is because several of you expressed a wish for the original gray windows that Clem made to be present on many models, even redrawing them with said windows yourselves.
I also will release a new MF88 RATP with gradient windows.
