Model announcement: V Set!
PavløvA_YT's blog
I am going to start (tomorrow) making a paper model of a V Set, which is the yellow train in the photo below:
D54 left, V44 right: a notoriously problematic new train replaces a beloved, reliable old one.Since most of you are French and these are Australian-Japanese trains, I feel like an explanation about them is needed.
V sets were built in 5 batches
1st was DCF and DTF (built 1968, initially targeted as "U Sets", shunt drive with 4x 168hp AEI DC shuntwound motors)
2nd was DCM and DCT, built 1970 (resistor driven with 4x 207hp DC motors)
3rd was DIM and DIT, built 1977 (resistor driven, same as above)
4th was DJM and DIT/DJT, built 1981 (4-quadrant GTO drive, 4x 218hp DC motors)
5th was DKM and DKT, built 1989 (4-quadrant GTO drive, same as above)
Also, some "loose" DTM motors -- they were just made individually, not as part of a series or anything, made when more motor cars were needed, all of them were resistor drive with 207hp motors.
DCF, DCM, DIM, DJM, DKM, loose DTM are all motors
DTF, DCT, DTD, DET, DIT, DJT, DKT all were trailers
But DCTs were all driving trailers.
And some driving trailers were renamed DTD driving trailers.
Oh -- and one driving trailer was converted into a lounge (DET, also called the *Contura*.) It still exists, as part of V21 (which also has a loose DTM car and a DIM/DCT combo)
V Sets ran all intercity lines in Sydney, e.g. CCN, BMT, SCO etc
They also ran suburban when extra trains were needed, the 2-car 2nd series V Sets were often put anywhere they could fit...
Oh yeah, and there's 1 more week left before they're all gone.
Bye.
12 carriages of Regio 2N!
PavløvA_YT
Check out this beast...Today, I built an R2N ZOU!.
If you have followed this blog for a while, you will know that I have had an R2N ZOU! for a while, but only built 3 carriages of it, although only 2 have ever been shown.
Only 6/8 carriages are done so far, like with my R2N Süd-PACA. This train is currently comprised of P1-P2-P3-P4-P7-P8, like the R2N Süd-PACA.
This R2N ZOU! still needs wheels, and P2 + P8 are awaiting roof parts (and total roof replacement for P8), but I need spare parts to do that, which I can only get on Thursday... so it will be a long wait.
Anyway here are some photos for now:
Front of P8 ZOU!More photos... yeah this carriage (P8) needs a remodel (and a roof replacement)P3 and P4 (2ème) with P7 (1ere)... notice the singular bogie... this does need to go to the bogie shopP2 missing all roof parts... and bogiesP3 and P4, P7 are all new (P7 is the newest)
Transwa ADR/ADS "Australind" order form
PavløvA_YT's Modelling
Order form is now live because I'm almost finished the body of the train!!!The nose, however... still needs designing.
Ugh.
Anyway, that QR code takes you to an order form! If you want an Australind, that is.
ADP/ADQ Class railcars will be my next job... I'm basically just doing Perth trains right now because one of my friends lives in Perth.
Anyway here are some prototype photos... I have not even done floor equipment yet...
Front -- yes, I know the cabin is not done yet, I'm working on it! I do all this by myself, cut me some slack please!Bodyshell -- those two cylinders are bogie slots.New 3D Model!!!
PavløvA_YT
It's NOT French! (Well, it is, it was built in La Rochelle, but not for France)
Coming soon to a model shop near you! (Probably, actually probably not)
Hint, it's 3 carriages long.
It is also narrow gauge! (1067mm)
The underfloor, front, and part of the roof still need to be done, but in 1hr this is good work progress!
Citadis 305 "TW20"
PavløvA_YT
Apologies in advance, this graphic is out of date, and does not feature gradient windows, RATP logos or an accurate front end.The time has come. CP92 recently published a TW20, as a Christmas present for you all. Of course, it is a great model, as he is an excellent modeller, but, I will always remix everything I can find!
Hence, I gave it my special touch, detailing the tram.
I replaced the front end windows, redrew the bogie at the front (which actually steers now, if my calculations are correct). I also did something never-seen before on a tram. I gave it an extremely detailed roof with quality that took a literal day to make.
Yes, that is right, each individual pod on the roof is a separate piece!
This tram also has articulation! It will flex around corners like an actual tram, and the bogies can steer! However, you will need fasteners to make this tram articulate. You will also need to make concertinas yourself, as I just could not make them in Paint3D.
This tram takes 5 sheets of A4, one for each carriage. It is not HO Scale as I prioritise detailed realism over pre-determined sizes.
P1 (N1)P2 (BCMU1)P3 (BCT)P4 (BCMU2)P5 (N2)A daytime trip to Kiama feat. Sydney Trains Oscar
PavløvA_YT
I went down to Kiama (in NSW's south coast) today on board an Oscar (H Set).
I also returned on one.
Here are some photos!
H45 and classmate handled the route up to Kiama, it was a very smooth ride, as usual with these Japanese trains (engines and inverters from Mitsubishi). We also have some French trains (share motors and inverters with a Z20900...)Here is another photo.H52 and classmate (H20 I think?) took me home.I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO DO THIS!Get your paper Oscar today!Side photo of H45
