Some candy V Sets

PavløvA_YT

State Rail Authority "Candy" livery. Both resistor driven "camshaft control" carriage DIM8069 and thyristor driven "chopper control" carriage DKM8139. Both have the newer type of air conditioning, but DIM8069 has only 1 bulletproof window, the other is rubber, giving it a distinctive "black eye" appearance.

Guys... I CREATED A DISCORD SERVER!

It was in setup stage today but now it's publicly accessible!

Join through here: Join my server now!

We're a friendly server dedicated to model trains and train photography in general, we have custom emojis/reactions and a forum for train photos.

You can also post youtube content.

We speak English, but a French version may come soon (although communate maquette papier does this already)

At the time of posting we have 5 members but it'll become populated soon, I hope.

So yeah, join my cool server lmao

Oh, and here's some S78 photos:
Happy march 1st btw

V2+ Oscar prototypes!!!

PavløvA_YT

ITS FINALLY DONE!!!

AWAWAAAAAAAAAAAÆ---

After a while of redesigns, I can finally say this: Version 2+ of the Oscar is now coming out!

At the moment, it is only 2 sets: H7 in TFNSW InterCity, and H48 in TFNSW Suburban

This is "Version 2+" because an initial Version 2 did exist, but I did not publish it, instead choosing to redesign the whole train, hence "Version +"

Now, there are some big, big changes...

First of all, the doors are now the right proportions, with thin window frames. This looks so much better than previously.

Secondly, relevant stickers have been applied, with wheelchair accessible stickers, and cab notice stickers, as well as the relevant warning symbols, all being applied.

Third of all, and perhaps most excitingly: The carriages are now numbered. They feature accurate numbering, thanks to the usage of CarLookup, a train number index, to provide carriage numbers.

Also, as with the previous released version, some of these trains have cosmetic damage to the front bumper, as show above; the current pair of released consists both exhibit some form of damage at one of the ends...

Now, without further ado, here are the trains...

-TFNSW InterCity Oscar H7-

-TFNSW Suburban Oscar H48-

...

Not yet...

-Coming soon...-

20/03/2025
Be ready

Note that the model show above is not mine, it was made in 2015. However, something big is coming from me soon.
Something, lets say, 1/10 the size of an actual train...
It may even drive.

Retrofitting auto couplers to my Tangara

PavløvA_YT's Modelling
Happy 1st of February btw!

God, I haven't used this blog in ages... its been 8 whole days lmao
Anyway I retrofitted auto coupler to the power car of my Auscision Models Tangara so it can multiple work with another one...
Here are some photos

Model announcement: V Set!

PavløvA_YT's blog

I am going to start (tomorrow) making a paper model of a V Set, which is the yellow train in the photo below:

D54 left, V44 right: a notoriously problematic new train replaces a beloved, reliable old one.

Since most of you are French and these are Australian-Japanese trains, I feel like an explanation about them is needed.

V sets were built in 5 batches

1st was DCF and DTF (built 1968, initially targeted as "U Sets", shunt drive with 4x 168hp AEI DC shuntwound motors)

2nd was DCM and DCT, built 1970 (resistor driven with 4x 207hp DC motors)

3rd was DIM and DIT, built 1977 (resistor driven, same as above)

4th was DJM and DIT/DJT, built 1981 (4-quadrant GTO drive, 4x 218hp DC motors)

5th was DKM and DKT, built 1989 (4-quadrant GTO drive, same as above)

Also, some "loose" DTM motors -- they were just made individually, not as part of a series or anything, made when more motor cars were needed, all of them were resistor drive with 207hp motors.

DCF, DCM, DIM, DJM, DKM, loose DTM are all motors

DTF, DCT, DTD, DET, DIT, DJT, DKT all were trailers

But DCTs were all driving trailers.

And some driving trailers were renamed DTD driving trailers.

Oh -- and one driving trailer was converted into a lounge (DET, also called the *Contura*.) It still exists, as part of V21 (which also has a loose DTM car and a DIM/DCT combo)

V Sets ran all intercity lines in Sydney, e.g. CCN, BMT, SCO etc

They also ran suburban when extra trains were needed, the 2-car 2nd series V Sets were often put anywhere they could fit...

Oh yeah, and there's 1 more week left before they're all gone.

Bye.
