Comeng 2004 AdMet

PavløvA_YT + Papertrolley Project Archives

A while ago, Mungojerrie made a model of the Comeng 2000 series (Jumbo) in STA livery (which I love very much, enough to make it my blog banner :3). However, I have tried to find a yellow version of it, but I have been unsuccessful.

So... I ventured into dangerous waters.

Making models typically is done entirely on the computer. However, Mungojerrie's models broke the mould: They were done in real life.

All of his models were made from photographs of trains. This is an extremely difficult way of making trains, as each photograph has to be stitched together with another, which makes distortion in photos a real nightmare. However, the result of this insanely hard process is a train so accurate, even a plastic model cannot match it for detail.

Soon, I will start making my own models in his style.

Anyways, if anybody has blueprint-quality photos of a Hybrid Comeng 3000/3100 Class, it would be much appreciated, these are my next model. These are also from Adelaide.

The 3100 Hybrids have traction batteries in the floor of the train that provide them 7km of battery range, and retain their diesel engines. They run on the Belair line (pronounced BELL-air, not beh-LAIR).

This is the 3100 Hybrid for reference:
