This is the original livery of the BM 74. They were delivered in this guards' red livery, affectionately called "tomato soup" by many people. This is not just a repaint of my original model, I have changed several things, including front end size, the ends on BCMU and BPb have also been changed to make all bogie slots the same size. The floor is now smaller so it curves better, the front end also has covers to prevent fraying, which was a chronic issue in the Vy - liveried prototype. This livery is slowly being replaced by the newer Vy blue and grey livery found on the BM 75 in great proportion. While the BM 75s are primarily Vy, most BM 74s still have this livery. As always, I am leaving the comments open so that you can provide feedback.
If you do build the model, please send it to me at duck33920@gmail.com.au, I will see the build and take into account any of your observations. I am building this soon, which is rare, given I never make most of my designs.
Also, if you were curious, the difference between a BM 74 and a BM 75 is that a BM 74 has interurban seating, whereas a BM 75 has urban seating. The BM 74 also has one less door on BMb, so that more seats can be fitted. There is also the matter of the X 74, which is the Swedish version, and it runs in Norway, whilst being operated by... wait for it... VR Group! Yes, a Swedish train, running in Norway, operated by the Finnish! Truly Scandinavian!
I will make that model someday (perhaps...?)
